Were Not Creepers... Scouts Honor!

It's a hard thing being an aspiring photographer. It's a tough market, With everyone out there owning digital cameras and being able to take a picture, It's hard to set myself apart from the rest of them. What makes me the guy you want to shoot with? How do I market myself enough to get my name out there? Honestly, I have yet to find that answer to either question yet. For the last month or so I have been trying my hardest to get some photoshoots together to help build my portfolio. In photography you have to have a portfolio, I have to have some kind of proof that I can actually work the camera and produce some quality photos worth paying for. A fellow aspiring photographer Friend of mine, Nick Yutaka is having the same problem.

We both are ready to do shoots but are having a hard time getting bodies to do it. Most people see us as creeper guys who just want to take their photo for free. I can understand that but at the same time if we get no chances how are we going to succeed? The only thing to do is keep on truckin. Although he has his wife setting him up with some of her coworkers to shoots with. He has invited me and a few of our buddies to tag along and shoot as well. I am pretty excited about this, I think it would be great to get together with a few of my peers and shoot the same subject and see what we come up with. There is nothing like getting advice and tips out in the field so to speak.

Jasmin and I have also been trying to set things up for some portfolio shoots, Jasmin has a friend who models and she's going to let me do a shoot with her. I also have a couple who are going to do a mock engagement shoot with me and my aspiring photog buddies. Hopefully it all plays out like we hope. We all want to get some stuff going, It's just hard being the creepy dude who wants to take your photo. I assure you... we aren't creepy!

Until Next Time...
